ABOUT US

A healthy mother is more likely to deliver a healthy baby.

Keep Our Babies Alive (KOBA) is a FREE and confidental outreach program for pregnant African American women in Stark County. KOBA helps these women get the prenatal care they need, and also educates them on taking care of themselves during their pregnancy. The aim is to reduce infant mortality and low-birth-weight rates.

KOBA’s services are funded by the Ohio Health Department through the Ohio Infant Mortality Reduction Initiative grant. The program’s goal is to reduce infant mortality, reduce low-birth-weight and very low-birth-rates especially among the African-American community.
