SERVICES

KOBA community healthworkers work with each mother individually to ensure a healthy pregnancy, and assist families needs. The following is s summary of services KOBA provides during pregnancy and through baby's first year:

HOUSING

KOBA helps in finding appropriate shelter or an affordable residence.

TRANSPORTATION

KOBA offers information on transportation options for doctor visits and other pregnancy-related appointments.

FOOD

KOBA helps the mother enroll in supportive programs offering nutritional assistance, food stamps, WIC etc. KOBA also make referrals to appropriate shelters and food cupboards if necessary.

HEALTH EDUCATION

KOBA provides education on family development, mother's needs, caring for baby, and baby's development.

BABY SUPPLIES

KOBA will provide a variety of necessities at different stages in the program. The program doesn’t supply everything, but will assist in getting new moms what they need most.

WIC

KOBA helps eligible mothers enroll in WIC, a program that provides supplemental nutritious foods, education and counseling on nutrition along with referrals to other health and social services.

HEALTHY START

Eligible mothers are assisted in enrolling in this important program. Healthy Start is Ohio’s FREE health insurance plan for children up to age 19 and pregnant women. It also covers doctor visits, hospital care, immunizations and prescriptions.
